Tradizionalmente meitheal fa riferimento a gruppi di agricoltori che si riunivano per aiutarsi a vicenda nel lavoro dei campi, in modo particolare per la raccolta del fieno e la mietitura. Alla base di tutto, la solidarieta’ e la reciprocita’. Ár Meitheal non ha alcuna pretesa filologica, non propongono nessuna ricerca di improbabili identità. Ár Meitheal rappresenta solo il piacere di suonare una musica accattivante e coinvolgente. E suonarla insieme, come il nome stesso indica. Proprio per questo va ribadito che le influenze portate dai singoli musicisti inevitabilmente “sporcano” una purezza quanto mai immaginata e irreale. Infatti introduciamo nel genere chitarre battenti, mandole, riq, cajon ed altre percussioni. Non intendiamo affatto tentare di riproporre questa inesistente purezza, ma creare un particolare lingo, tutto da ascoltare. In fact we use chitarre battenti, mandole, riq, cajon and other percussion. We are not looking for this non existent purity but to create a peculiar lingo, deserving attention.
